The latest issue of Woodworking Magazine is on its way to subscribers and should be available on newsstands shortly. You can also order it online. The cover project for this issue is the infamous Chinese stool, the subject of numerous blog posts. The second project is a reproduction of a Shaker meeting house bench from the Whitewater community near Cincinnati.
SketchUp models of both of these projects have been added to the Popular Woodworking and Woodworking Magazine 3D Warehouse collection. These models are a great way to view a project from any angle on your computer. All you need to do to be able to view these is to download SketchUp and install it on your computer. Like the models in our collection, the software is absolutely free. You can learn more about it by visiting the SketchUp page on our website.
We’ve also uploaded models of projects from the December issue of Popular Woodworking, including the Bibliophile’s bookcase and the “I Can Do That” recycling station. For good measure, we’ve added the No Nonsense Router Table from the June issue.
The image above will give you an idea of what SketchUp models are like. We’ve been using it for our design work here for the last few years, and we highly recommend it.
