Another table style i like to make, this one a Shaker Style table. About 24"x 24" top, a small, simple drawer, and some hand tapered legs. The drawer does not even use dovetails (too small) so just some rabbets are used. Aprons are joined to the legs with simple Mortise and tenon joints. Inside the aprons, a pair of kickers are at the top of the aprons. These also are where the the top gets fastened in place. On some of these tables I make, a single screw (covered with a plug) will hold the top in pace. Ah yes, pictures!
Leg being mortised. I just mark the locations, and use a chisel to chop the waste out. 
Ah, the glue-ups. I use the tablesaw as my "bench". The clamp going diagonally is to square the assembly up. On this table, there is no kickers being used, the top is the kicker. The thin apron is where the drawer goes in, drawer "guides" just 1x2s, screwed to the inside of the apron) are next to go in. 
Drawer details. Hey, I said it is just a small, simple drawer, right? 
Top in place (with a screw into each leg) piece has been sanded and stained at this point. A round-over on most of the edges had been done. A simple wooden knob was glued and screwed in place. 
And with a few coats of poly gloss. Top was a four board glue-up. What kind of wood did I start with?
Ugly, ain't they? Just an old pine "Loft Bed" that my son had outgrown. Reclaim, reuse, and recycle. Not too bad?
