Gil Arad (pronounced as 'Geal') is an Israeli woodworker. He recently finished building a Japanese inspired single-panel screen made from cyprus, cedar, and handmade rice paper. The piece is accented with a beautiful bamboo branch that serves as its focal point. I really like how Gil shaped the feet of the piece. He created diagonal facets that soften the necessary heft of this structure, allowing it to look lighter and more interesting.
