There are a bunch of online woodworking forums, but WoodCentral is a bit special to me. That is where I came across a posting from Chris Schwarz almost nine years ago about an opening on the Popular Woodworking Magazine staff. That’s a wonderful excuse for fooling around online when you should be doing something productive.
On Monday, March 11 at 9:30 p.m. Eastern time, I’ll be the special guest in the WoodCentral chat room, and the topic will be Arts & Crafts furniture. I’ll be fielding any and all questions, and I hope you’ll join in. The host of WoodCentral, Ellis Walentine, is a former magazine editor and was kind enough to review my first book, “Shop Drawings for Craftsman Furniture,“ when it was published in 2001. I’ve been visiting WC ever since and it’s a great bunch of woodworkers – it promises to be an interesting evening.
I’ll be talking about the original makers of this period, reproductions I’ve made and spilling the beans about a new book that’s on its way.
