This weekend, I read that the British Library has uploaded to Flickr Commons images from books and periodicals from the 17th-19th centuries, as part of the “Unseen Illustrations” project. They are available for use and repurpose in any way.

I’ve had time only to look at a few pages worth of images; there are 10,200 pages and more than a million images, and they aren’t (yet) categorized in a way that allows one to search by, say “woodworking,” but already, I’ve come across a few pictures that are of interest to the craft, including some interesting furniture pieces and the frame-saw image above.
