AS YOU CAN SEE I HAVE A PHOTO OF THIS TREE BUT I WILL ONLY NEED THE OUTLINE AND IT WILL BE DOWNSIZED TO ABOUT 6/8 FT HIGH X ABOUT 7/8 FOOT WIDE.????????THIS IS AN IDEA I HAVE WANTED TO DO FOR YEARS , I AS YOU KNOW MAKE THINGS UNIQUE AND AMAZING, AS YOU SEE THERE IS A SMALL LIST OF TIMBERS,THERE ARE OVER 180 SPECIES OF TIMBER WORLDWIDE.MAYBE THERE ARE MORE UNDISCOVERED WHO KNOWS?THE OUTLINE OF THE TREE I PROPOSE TO DO WILL BE 8FT HIGH X 7 FT WIDE X 4 INCHES THICK… FOR THIS I WILL USE 2X8X4 FT SHEETS OF 1 INCH THICK PLYWOOD..SO I GET 8X8 SQUARE AREA.I WILL THEN CUT 4 AND1/4 INCH X 3/16 PLY STRIPS.THIS WILL BE SOAKED IN A BATH FOR HOW EVER LONG IT TAKES TO BE PLYABLE SO I CAN FORM THE OUTLINE OF THE TREE.!!ONCE DONE I WILL ROUTER OUT THE OUTLINE OF THE TREE ON PLYWOOD WITH A 3/16 CUTTER. TO THE DEPT OF 1/4 INCH.THEN I CAN INSERT PLY TO THE DEPT LEAVING ME WITH 4 INCH HIGH ALL ROUND. ONCE DRY I WILL GIVE IT A FEW COATS OF HARD WEARING VARNISH. NOW I HAVE A SOLID OUTLINE OF THE TREE.ON THE INSIDE OF THE PLY I WILL BRUSH ON A FEW COATS OF MOULD RELEASE AGENT.NOW I WILL BE READY TO BEGIN.USING DIFFERENT TIMBERS FOR INSIDE OUTLINE OF TREE I WILL CUT RANDOM SHAPES FROM 4 X3 INCH OF VARIOUS TIMBERS. SO THEY FIT TIGHT AROUND THE EDGE. EACH PIECE WILL BE 4 INCH HIGH X WHAT EVER I CAN SHAPE IT INTO USING FRETSAW.A BIT LIKE A JIGSAW.!!.BUT WITH CURVES IN DIFFERENT POSITIONS.THESE WILL BE GLUED USING WATERPROOF PVA.ONCE I HAVE OUTLINE DONE WITH DIFFERENT IRREGULAR SHAPES.THEN I CAN START MAKING THE PUZZLE TREE. ONCE ALL PIECES OF VARIOUS TIMBERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD HAS BE CUT GLUED AND FITTED.IT WILL BE LEFT TO DRY OVER A FEW DAYS BEFORE PLY STRIP IS REMOVED.THEN IT WILL BE SANDED TO A MIRROR FINISH BEFORE BEING GIVEN A HIGH WAX POLISH.IT WILL THEN BE MOUNTED ON A BASE WITH 2 X2 INCH DIAMETER STAINLESS STEEL RODS.AS I SAID THIS IS JUST AN IDEA I WOULD LIKE TO DO.THEN I CAN BOAST I HAVE ALL THE TIMBERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD IN MY LIVING ROOM.REMEMBER YOU TOO CAN DO THIS ,BASIC TOOLS AND A FRETSAW IS NEEDED.JUST REMEMBER MEASURE TWICE CUT ONCE.??
