It is with no small regret that I announce we will not be holding a 2018 Woodworking in America conference.
Though pulling the conference together is always a lot of work, I’ve found that the days actually at the conferences (every year since 2008!) have been among the most rewarding – I will sorely miss this opportunity to get together with 400+ of my closest woodworking friends.
In the meantime, I and the rest of the Popular Woodworking staff are working toward bringing the conference back – bigger and better than ever.
Here are some supplies and tools we find essential in our everyday work around the shop. We may receive a commission from sales referred by our links; however, we have carefully selected these products for their usefulness and quality.
Will there be any elaboration as to the reasons? As I recall, 2017 was not held to avoid conflicting demands with another event. 2018, given the current phrasings, seems to have more general reasons.
Maybe the community could rally to the cause?
Not to be conspiratorial, but Megan’s blog is overdue for some new content. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
Maybe we could do a Kickstarter and have a big kegger in downtown Covington next year instead. That’s a thing they do on Kickstarter, right? 😀
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
That being said, I understand. It’s a lot of work and I bet isn’t as lucritive as it seems. Looking forward to connecting with you and the PW team some other way!
I have only been following PW for a few years, so I am a little ignorant to these events. Was WIA normally every 2 years? Are you able/willing to give a possible year for the next one?
Oh snap!
