It’s thirty-six degrees here in Minnesota as I sit down to write this. We’re supposed to get up to 10 inches of snow tonight. But despite what the weather outside tells me, it is indeed spring. Soon we’ll emerge from hibernation and return to outdoor activities, cookouts, and relaxation on the deck. It’s going to be woodworking season as well. For those of us with unheated shops or garages it’s been a long few months of minimal woodworking, but that’s about to change as well.
This week, in anticipation of the upcoming warm weather, cold beverages, and piles of sawdust, we’re going to focus on outdoor projects and techniques. Think planters for your herbs, chairs for the patio, and figuring out which outdoor finish is perfect for a picnic table. Happy spring everyone, and happy woodworking!
