Blade
Alignment
I made this rig to check the
alignment of my tablesaw
blade with the miter gauge
slot. I don’t own a precision
dial indicator, so I
devised one using an ice
pick and a continuity
tester.
First, I slid the ice
pick forward until it
just touched the blade.
Then I clamped the
pick to the miter gauge. I
rotated the blade, moved
the miter gauge forward
and checked the same spot.
The lamp did not light so I
inserted feeler gauges until
it did. This measured how
far the blade was out of
alignment.
