Rubber Band Veneer Clamp
I had tried everything to successfully glue veneer on curved surfaces: cauls, three-way clamps, string and tape, you name it. Nothing ever worked as well as this homespun solution, which requires only simple shop supplies.
Nail a row of brads into two boards and clamp them to both sides of the project. Spread glue on the curved edge of the board and tape in place the veneer strip and a strip of cardboard the width of the veneer. Run long rubber bands from the top brads, around the veneer and cardboard and to the bottom row of brads. The cardboard evens out the rubber-band clamp force and prevents the bands from cracking the veneer's edges.

My Take
What I like about this one is simply the ingenuity. I think the coolest thing about tips is the fact that they get your brain ticking in a problem-solving way. Whether the tip pertains directly to something you're working on or not doesn't even matter. By the way, you can get those big rubber bands at office supply stores.
