Last week I introduced you to SketchUp and gave numerous examples of what it can do for the woodworker. That post was titled SketchUp Comes To American Woodworker. In today’s post I am going to show you how to install and setup SketchUp on your own desktop or notebook. The video below covers the downloading of SketchUp, installing it on a PC, setting the application Preferences, customizing the Model Info (preferences), tailoring the drawing Styles and creating a custom Template. No prior knowledge of SketchUp is required, though you should be familiar with installing applications on your system. I hope you find this tutorial useful and that you become inspired to give SketchUp a try.
