When building the base of my twin hutches I had to cut four identical decorative cutouts. Since I had four identical cuts to make, it was worthed to build a pattern guide to ease the operation and make it quick and accurate. Using such pattern guide with a router outfitted with a pattern bit or a flush trim bit was the key for such task. To see all the steps to build a pattern guide using a rotary tool, a spindle sander and simple files, click here to be linked to the appropriate page of my website. You will also be able to watch a short video on using the rotary tool to cut free hand the curved profile of the pattern guide.

Serge
