Changing bandsaw blades used to be a pain, because my bandsaw doesn't have a quick-release blade-tensioning mechanism. I finally got tired of
hand-cranking, so I replaced the tensioning rod with a 3/8-in. threaded rod. I locked two nuts against each other on top of the rod, making sure their faces lined up. Now a 9/16-in. socket operates the tensioning system and only my trigger finger gets tired.
