Hand Tool BasicsThanks for all the great comments! The winner of this book giveaway is “Mike.” Stay tuned for more fun giveaways. If you’re interested in a copy of “Hand Tool Basics,” it’s currently available at ShopWoodworking.com.

I’m kicking off 2018 with a giveaway of our first book of this year which is just now hitting bookshelves: Steve Branam’s “Hand Tool Basics.” This book is a great way to incorporate hand tools into your woodworking process. Step-by-step photos and explanations walk you through everything you need to know from sharpening tools to stock prep to joinery and more.

Simply post a comment below and I’ll choose one winner at random. Winner will be posted Monday 1/8/2018 (gotta get used to typing that new year).  Happy New Year everyone!

I am a beginning handyool woodworking trying to absorb as much information as I can. I have assembled a basic set of tools and have started working on my first project (School Desks for my Kids). I know, probably not a good beginning project, but I’m making decent progress. But, I am finding that I am missing some vital techniques to get my joints to seat properly. I believe this book would help me solve some of my basic ignorance about how to properly prepare stock and create seamless joints with hand tools. Thank you for the offer. I look forward to reading it even if I don’t win it.
