The 1224 weighs close to 300 lb.,has a 12-1/2-in. swing for bowls and 24-in. between centers for spindles.If you want to turn dining table legs, you’ll have to add the optional bed extension ($240).
The 1224 is a compact powerhouse, quiet and smooth-running throughout its two speed ranges, 0-2,000 rpm and 0-4,000 rpm.Power is supplied by a constant-torque 1-hp motor, coupled to an electronic 110-volt AC variable-speed inverter with dynamic braking.The postmounted control box can be positioned at either end of the lathe, for convenience and safety.
