SketchUp Class With Bob Lang, Sept. 8-12

I will be teaching a week-long SketchUp class  September 8-12, 2014 at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, Maine. If you want to get a better understanding of the 3D modeling program we use here at Popular Woodworking Magazine, this is your opportunity. As in all my SketchUp classes, we start with a thorough understanding of the basics of how the program works, and by the end of the week you will know how to efficiently use it to design, plan and problem solve your next woodworking project. Bring your laptop and we’ll be working with SketchUp Make, the free version of SketchUp. Of course we will also talk about SketchUp Pro and when it makes sense to upgrade.

This class will be a mix of me demonstrating how to use SketchUp, with my computer screen projected on a big screen and attendees practicing. As students practice, I peek over shoulders and answer questions. One-on-one instruction shows you where, when and why to click, what happens when you do, and how to get out of trouble when things go wrong.

At the moment, there are still a few spots available in this class. The Center for Furniture Craftsmanship is an outstanding facility, and fall is a wonderful time to be in New England. The school is just down the road from Lie-Nielsen Toolworks and other sights worth seeing. I’m looking forward to it, and I hope you will join me.
