Some of my favorite times are when I get out of the office and teach classes on using SketchUp. If you thoroughly understand what you’re going to build, before you go out to the shop, time spent in the shop is more productive (and more fun). SketchUp gives you the power to figure out how things go together without cutting (or lifting) a piece of wood. This year, I’ll be teaching classes in two different locations.
The first class is April 1-3, at Kelly Mehler’s School of Woodworking in Berea, Kentucky.
The second class is April 26-30 at Marc Adams School of Woodworking in Franklin, Indiana
There are still a few openings in each of these classes, and if you want to immerse yourself in learning SketchUp, this is a great way to get going. It’s better than my videos, because you can interrupt and make me slow down and show you exactly what I’m doing. It’s better than my book, because I can spend time looking over your shoulder and help you over the rough spots. These classes always attract a great bunch of students, and we have a lot of fun. I hope you’ll be able to join me.
