Our first west coast Woodworking in America Conference is off to a great start in Pasadena, Calif. If you’re in the Los Angeles area, you can still join us for the event which runs through Sunday at the Pasadena Convention Center. The event consists of two parts: the Marketplace, where you will find an unmatched group of tool vendors including Lee Valley, Lie-Nielsen, Bosch, Hock Tools and many more. The Hand Tool Olympics also takes place in the Marketplace, and in addition to the tools there are also displays from the nearby Cerritos College woodworking program and a gallery of pieces made by the instructors teaching classes at the show. (A special thanks to Tony Fortner and Cerritos for helping with the show.)
This is your opportunity to get your hands on the finest tools around, talk with the people who design and make them, and get great advice on what tools are best for you. The Marketplace is located in exhibit hall A at the convention center. It’s open today until 6:00 pm and tomorrow from 9:00 until 6:00.
Across the plaza, in the Conference Center, the classrooms are held in the lower level Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We have assembled a collection of woodworking superstars, and you can meet them, see how they work up close and get your questions answered. Here are a few of the presenters from their classes this morning:
Registration for classes and tickets for the Marketplace are available on site, and if you can’t make the show in Pasadena, we’ll be putting on Woodworking in America again in a few weeks in the Cincinnati area (Nov. 2-4 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center). It really is the ultimate woodworking weekend, and I hope you’ll be able to join us.
Here are some supplies and tools we find essential in our everyday work around the shop. We may receive a commission from sales referred by our links; however, we have carefully selected these products for their usefulness and quality.
