Granite provides a seamless, continuous work surface that is perfectly flat. Granite is harder than stainless steel. It absorbs vibration better, keeping the cut smooth and the blade alignment accurate. It‘s not affected by heat, cold or humidity. So it will never rust, spring, twist or warp like traditional cast iron table tops. It is also virtually maintenance-free. Or as Scott Box likes to explain it, “Cast iron is stress-relieved for six months and these tops have been stress relieved for 150 million years.”
Steel City is also adding a riving knife/guard system as standard equipment to this new line of granite “hybrid” table saws. The entire assembly travels vertically on ways and includes a quick-change guard. It is the heaviest and most accurate trunnion system available in the “hybrid” class of table saws!

The large, center mounted, cast iron fence tilts in and out to 45° with positive stops at 45° and 90°. The convienent controls allow easy movementof the fence across the bed and cover the rear of the cutterhead in the fully extended position.
