We’re wrapping up our eight-week series on CNC Designed for Woodworkers and the series has taught me a lot about CNC and changed my thinking to appreciate how beneficial this technology can be in a woodworking shop. But when I think about the time spent on the series it’s not the very cool technology that impresses me most, it’s the people and the commitment that make up the Axiom team.

First off, Todd, Chad and Austin were great to work with and when you talked with them about their products you could tell they not only liked and understood them, but they cared about them. That dedication is evident starting with the company’s policy of doing most of the assembly and then quality checking every machine before it’s shipped. They also want to make sure you understand your system, and even though the software and operation are much simpler than most people realize, Axiom offers classes that can help answer questions and make the learning process even easier. And, of course, they’re always available by phone or e-mail for customer service questions.

So if you haven’t watched the series, I encourage you to learn about the basics of CNC woodworking, and take a look at the different techniques (including 3D, laser and working with non-metal materials) that are available to put to use in your shop. The last episode is below, and while you’re watching, look at the folks behind the machine that care about your experience!
